How It Works

The flow of finances for the Healthy Children’s Fund generally follows these steps:

1. Revenue collection

Funding for the Healthy Children’s Fund begins with revenue collection through a voter-approved levy, which generates about ten million dollars each year and will continue through 2032.

2. Strategic allocation

Next, the funds are allocated strategically according to our Implementation Plan and a set of ten community-driven strategies that were adopted in 2023.

3. Grant contracting

Organizations and agencies can then submit proposals through open Requests for Proposals. After review, contracts are awarded and executed for the selected programs.

4. Monitoring, reporting & auditing

Finally, funded organizations report their outcomes, and the County oversees and audits these results to ensure transparency and accountability for all funds distributed.
